| Dr.
N.L. Sinha was born in Lucknow on 30.11.1889 in a reputed family of Kayesthas.
Dr. Sinha had a keen interest in medicine. As a hobby he studied the system viz.
Allopathy,Ayurved, Homoeopathy, naturopathy etc. He came in possession of one
book styled as Stepping Stones to Electro Homoeopathy written A. J .L. Gliddon
of London so much so that he went on to study Electro Homoeopathy, completed his
Doctorate in Medicine in Electro Homoeopathy from Superior Independent Institute
of Applied Medical Sciences, London in 1911. He established Electro Homoeopathic
Institute in 1911 at Sitapur. After getting married, he shifted to Kanpur in 1918.
In 1919 he formed the Count Mattei Association and this association vide
its resolution of 28th December, 1920 established National University of Electro
Complex Homoeopathy for education, research and development of Electro Homoeopathy.
In 1948 the Medical Department, Govt. of U.P. gave a trial case of mixed
leprosy to Dr. N.L. Sinha which he treated successfully and radically cured the
patient in nine months. Since
the government was reluctant to recognize Electro Homoeopathy even after the cure
of the leprosy patient, Dr. Sinha started his fast onto Death from 1 July 1951,
which continued for 30 days during which he lost forty-three pounds in weight.
The medical department vide its letter No. 1459-v/B-103/1953 dated 27.3.1953
asked Dr. Sinha to get Electro Homoeopathy generally recognized, only then recognition
matter will be considered. Later, Dr. N.L. Sinha started organising All
India Demonstrative Conference and inviting patients of incurable diseases for
one week's free treatment to show the efficacy of Electro Homoeopathic remedies.
In 1960, Dr. N.L. Sinha was awarded the distinguished title of Masih-ul Hind by
the Conference. Dr. Sinha wrote more than three dozen books on various
medical subjects in English, Hindi and Urdu. His book 'Materia Medica and Fundamentals
Laws ' is a milestone in the principles and philosophy of Electro Homoeopathy.
In this book Dr. Sinha is the first among all the authors who tried to explain
the medical system in a most scientific way. This book has been translated in
French and German languages. Dr. Sinha left for his heavenly abode on
30.11.1979.(1
